Lewa Conservancy's anti-poaching unit are a highly-trained group of men who specialize in nighttime tactics. They regularly train at an undisclosed, secret location with night patrols and target practice. Through my documentary film work in Kenya this past year I was fortunate enough to be invited for an inside look at one of these training sessions. After an hour-long bumpy ride in the darkness, I arrived onto a surreal scene. Amidst the red flares and popping gunfire, I felt hope for wildlife.
