The Riverbed

A group of elephants having a morning drink in Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania. Said by Ernest Hemingway to be "the loveliest lake in Africa", this shallow lake in the East African Rift is home to a diverse set of landscapes and wildlife. This secluded, hidden riverbed swells with water from a nearby waterfall during rainy season, but stays a communal drinking spot for an astonishing array of animal species year-round.
